Jedi: Too Little Too Late
SULLUST - Moments ago
Chairman Rajzar Raoub, chair of the Sullustan Planetary
Council met as a secure, and undisclosed, location with a Republic
delegation. The delegation broached the subject of assisting Sullust
and Sullust assisting the Republic with the Elrood situation.
Unfortunately, the Republic offered too little too late.
Chairman Raoub told the Jedi, "Sullust stands for Sullust.
The Republic has forsaken us so we must look elsewhere for help...Why
couldn't you have been more responsive sooner?...I'm sorry Jedi. My hand has
been forced."

Mysterious Occurrences in Sullustan Fleet
SULON - High above the fertile moon of Sulon the
Heavy Cruiser "Permeate" orbits. Inside its hull
Captain Michael Benjamin Ebehe wrote a private memo/journal entry
that has found its way to the HoloNetNews.
"The unexplained rash of sickness and equipment failure continues. Despite
my best efforts there is a lack of forthcoming information to explain these
circumstances. The crew is being rotated for infirmary checkups while we
wait for investigators from the security force to question both officers and
crew to determine if sabotage is the cause. The other captains speak of
similar sickness and failures. We must find a resolution and soon before
Eriadu strikes again.
Some of the officers have talked about us going alone to help the Republic.
They say it is our duty. I have done my best to soothe their minds but I
fear that if Chairman Raoub doesn't officially send reinforcements to the
Republic a mutiny will be on his hands."

Sullust Prepares Defenses, Responds to Republic's Call for
Help
SULLUST -
Chairman Rajzar Raoub, chair of the Sullustan Planetary
Council, spoke on a new direction for Sullust.
"In the past the people of Sullust have been peaceful despite the centuries
of repression we suffered at the hands of Eriadu. Unfortunately, our desire
for peaceful existence has been for naught. Eriadu forces have attacked
Sullust, have murdered our citizens, and continue to spread falsehoods
tarnishing our image. Sullust will not be caught unprotected again.
Sullust has begun preparations to more ably defend ourselves. As I give this
announcement a new homeland defense fleet is already being constructed in
conjunction with a new all volunteer homeland defense army. We assure our
galactic neighbors that these means are to assure our continued existence.
We will not use them offensively against those who peacefully coexist with
us. To those who intend us harm, however, be warned that you shall not fool
us into a sense of false security again. This Sand Cat has fangs and it will
use them to defense itself."
Chairman Raoub linked this development to the Republic's open call for
additional forces to deal with the Elrood situation. "It is clear to us,"
says Raoub, "that the Republic has forsaken Sullust to the tender less mercy
of Eriadu. It is up to us to defend ourselves and we are unable to lend any
of our forces to those who will not assist us in living peacefully. We need
every ship we have to defend our people from the vile and oppressive
government of Eriadu."

SoroSuub News Bulletin
SULLUST - At the regular SoroSuub Board of Directors and
shareholders meeting Rasti Raoub, Chief Executive Officer, cited a decrease
in share value due to the recent attacks by Eriadu and false information the
leadership of Eriadu has conveyed.
"Eriadu's slander of the Sullustan people and thereby SoroSuub has caused
stock prices to plummet. our planet's best economists have traced this
directly to Eriadu's deadly attacks and volatile words. In response I ask
the board to vote on a resolution that will stop shipments of SoroSuub goods
to Eriadu and all planets aligned with those untrustworthy curs."
The board unanimously voted in favor of the resolution declaring an
immediate moratorium on all shipments of SSC goods to Eriadu and its allies.

Violence Soars
Eriadu strikes hard.
SULLUST. In a story that is fast developing,
Chairman Rajzar Raoub,
chair of the Sullustan Planetary Council, announced that a fleet of Eriadu
vessels has decimated the SoroSuub Corporation mining operations on
Sullust's fourth moon. Raoub, who shared the press conference with SoroSuub
Corporation Chief Executive Officer Rasti Raoub, indicated that significant
damage was inflicted on the mining operation and that a significant loss of
life was suffered.
The mining operation provided vital mineral resources for the growing
Sullustan manufacturing industry. This attack is expected to delay
production of new consumer goods on Sullust. It will additionally reduce
SoroSuub's mining division by 20% in the region.
In his brief news conference, Raoub blamed Eriadu for the resurgence of a
long line of repression inflicted on the Sullustan people. Raoub maintains
that Eriadu's claims of this attack being in retribution for an alleged
Sullustan attack on Eriadu vessels. Raoub states, "Sullust has not attacked
Eriadu or any of its inhabitants. Despite Eriadu's centuries lasting
repression of Sullust, we maintain a peaceful posture towards our neighbors.
This is a flimsy pretense for Eriadu to strike deep attempting to prevent
our economic recovery."
Raoub further denies any knowledge of or participation in the alleged attack
on Eriadu vessels. Rasti Raoub concurred and expressed a similar sentiment
when he declared that this is nothing but government sponsored corporate
sabotage by the planet of Eriadu. Both Rajzar and Rasti have expressed
outrage over the incident and demand satisfaction.

Fury in the Outer Rim
Eriadu and Sullust close to war.
ERIADU. In a story that is fast developing, Admiral Viktor Roon,
Regent of Eriadu, announced that a convoy of Eriadu Manufacturing vessels
has been destroyed. Roon indicated that the Baron Sempill, one of
three vessels in the convoy, issued a distress call before it was destroyed.
The message received indicated that the vessel identified the attacking
craft as a Sullustan vessel.
The convoy included the Eriadu transports Baron Sempill, Netherlee,
and Ortolan that were carrying spice from the Kessel system to the
Eriadu system. Although rescue vessels have not yet arrived on the scene,
Roon conceded that he believed the crews of all three transports perished in
the attack. Twenty-seven were aboard the Baron Sempill, with another
thirty-two aboard the Netherlee and forty-seven aboard the Ortolan
for a total of 106 feared lost.
In his brief news conference, Roon lashed out at his Sullustan neighbors,
"This act of unprovoked aggression is deplorable. For nearly a century, the
worlds of Seswenna have maintained peaceful relations with the worlds of
Sluis. My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their lives in
this treacherous act. I promise swift retribution to the people of Eriadu
and indeed all people who support our cause. This act will not go
unpunished.
A History of Violence
At one time, the worlds of the modern day Mayagil and Sluis Sectors were
ruled from Eriadu and brutally subjugated under the suzerainty of the House
of Seswenna. As the Seswenna Sector neared collapse and defeat in the Great
Trade War a century ago, the Galactic Senate intervened to negotiate a
settled truce between the warring parties. Eriadu's centuries long
repression of the Sullustan and Sluisi races was a main factor in the
Senate's decision to eventually dissolve the Seswenna Sector altogether.
The brutal violence that erupted soon thereafter between the former worlds
of the Seswenna Sector caused great alarm in the Senate, and
Jedi Master
Will Hija was dispatched to negotiate an end to the civil war. The resulting
treaty created the present Mayagil and Sluis sectors under the direct
protection of the Republic, and seriously curtailed Eriadu's dominance of
the region. Since that time, the only damage has come in the form of a
bruised ego for Eriadu.
